7 Time World Champion Lewis Hamilton dominates from start to finish to win the Chinese Sprint. The British driver, who many mistake for winning a sprint in 2021, finally wins a sprint race, with the Scuderia also taking first for the first time ever after multiple 2nd place finishes with Charles Leclerc over the years.
The sprint was one for tyre management, with the new surface around the track graining up the tyres, especially those who follow in close proximity to the car ahead.
Lando Norris had a shocking first lap, making a mistake into Turn 6, going too wide into the entry and catching the grass, leading to him going wide and losing 2 places.
Liam Lawson had a very punchy day, hitting Jack Doohan at Turn 14 to get past him. Overall, a decent session from Lawson, however fighting the Racing Bulls, Alpine’s and Kick Sauber’s whilst Max Verstappen fights the McLaren’s, Ferrari’s and Mercedes’ will not be what the Red Bull team are looking for, knowing how ruthless they are
The final result for the Chinese Sprint is as follows:
Lewis Hamilton - 30:39.965
Oscar Piastri - +6.889
Max Verstappen - +9.804
George Russell - +11.592
Charles Leclerc - +12.190

Lando Norris - +23.471
